Pre-Qualifying
Too Many Advantages and Nothing to Loseā¦
I always recommend a client be pre-qualified for financing prior to making an offer on a home. There are many advantages to prequalification:
- Knowing what you can spend on a home allows you and your realtor to narrow down your home search saving you time and frustration.
- Alleviates the stress of making an offer and having to wait to see if you can qualify for the home.
- Some clients choose their mortgage based on monthly payment amounts and not by the maximum mortgage they qualify for. Pre-Qualifying will give you the understanding required to budget how much you spend.
- When you are pre-qualified, you will have bargaining power when making an offer to the seller. The sellers will know that you are serious buyers and can afford the home.
- Pre-qualification does not cost you anything!
